This Section includes sealants and related materials for application in the joint locations <br />required for site civil joints. <br />1.2 REFERENCES: <br />A. Applicable Standards: <br /> <br />1. American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM): <br /> <br />a. C920 - Elastomeric Joint Sealants. <br />b. C962 - Guides for Use of Elastomeric Joint Sealants. <br />c. E814 - Test Methods for Fire Tests for Through-Penetration Fire Stops. <br />1.3 SUBMITTALS: <br /> <br />A. Submit as specified in DIVISION 1. <br /> <br />B. Includes, but not limited to, the following for each type of sealant or associated material <br />required. <br /> <br />1. Product data and specifications including instructions for joint preparation and <br />sealer application. <br /> <br />2. Color charts. <br /> <br />3. Samples for initial selection purposes: Submit samples consisting of strips of actual <br />product showing full range of colors available, for each type of sealant exposed to <br />view. <br /> <br />C. Certificates: Review the joint design and specifications and verify that the joint system is <br />appropriate for its location and that sealant materials comply with specifications. <br /> <br />1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE: <br /> <br />A. Manufacturer of sealants shall have a minimum of 5 years of successful experience in the <br />production of types of sealants required. <br /> <br />B. Sealant installer shall be certified by the sealant manufacturer as having the necessary <br />experience and equipment to install the materials properly. <br /> <br />C. Obtain joint sealant materials from a single manufacturer for each different product <br />required. <br />
