For the purpose of incorporating the amendment 1603 <br />made by this act to section 768.28, Florida Statutes, in a 1604 <br />reference thereto, subsection (3) of section 768.1355, Florida 1605 <br />Statutes, is reenacted to read: 1606 <br /> 768.1355 Florida Volunteer Protection Act.— 1607 <br /> (3) Members of elected or appointed boards, councils, and 1608 <br />commissions of the state, counties, municipalities, authorities, 1609 <br />and special districts shall incur no civil liability and shall 1610 <br />have immunity from suit as provided in s. 768.28 for acts or 1611 <br />omissions by members relating to members' conduct of their 1612 <br />official duties. It is the intent of the Legislature to 1613 <br />encourage our best and brightest people to serve on elected and 1614 <br />appointed boards, councils, and commissions. 1615 <br /> Section 47. For the purpose of incorporating the amendment 1616 <br />made by this act to section 768.28, Florida Statutes, in a 1617 <br />reference thereto, subsection (7) of section 768.1382, Florida 1618 <br />Statutes, is reenacted to read: 1619 <br /> 768.1382 Streetlights, security lights, and other similar 1620 <br />illumination; limitation on liability.— 1621 <br /> (7) In the event that there is any conflict between this 1622 <br />section and s. 768.81, or any other section of the Florida 1623 <br />Statutes, this section shall control.
