RESOLUTION NO. 2025 - <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, APPROVING AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH MIAMI-DADE <br />COUNTY TO PERFORM TRAFFIC ENGINEERING FUNCTIONS FOR SIGNING AND <br />MARKING; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID INTERLOCAL <br />AGREEMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS <br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-96.1 of the Miami -Dade County (the "County") Code of <br />Ordinances, all traffic control and traffic engineering services in the County are under their <br />exclusive jurisdiction; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") desires to assume the installation <br />and maintenance responsibilities of certain traffic engineering functions pertaining to its <br />municipal streets and rights-of-way; and <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to install and maintain branded street name signs and poles <br />(the "Street Name Signs"), existing striping and marking, new striping and marking, new in - <br />pavement lighted crosswalks and Stop Signs and poles; and <br />WHEREAS, all new striping and marking will be based on prior County approval; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that it is in the best interest of its residents, <br />visitors, and stakeholders to approve an Interlocal Agreement with the County to perform <br />traffic engineering functions for signing and marking, attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Approval of Interlocal Agreement. The City Commission hereby approves an <br />Interlocal Agreement with Miami -Dade County to perform traffic engineering functions for <br />signing and marking, attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />Section 2. Authorization of Mayor. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said <br />Interlocal Agreement. <br />Section 3. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br />Section 4. Effective Date.
