INTERGOVERMENTAL AGENCY AGREEMENT <br />TO PERFORM TRAFFIC ENGINEERING FUNCTIONS FOR SIGNING AND MARKING <br />This Intergovernmental Agency Agreement to Perform Traffic Engineering Functions <br />(this "Agreement") is made and entered into this day of , 2025, by and <br />between Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, a municipal corporation of the State of Florida, (the <br />"City") and Miami -Dade County, a political subdivision of the State of Florida (the "County") <br />WITNFRRFTH <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-96.1 of the Miami -Dade County Code, all traffic control <br />and traffic engineering services in Miami -Dade County are under the exclusive jurisdiction of the <br />County; and <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to assume the installation and maintenance responsibilities <br />of certain traffic engineering functions pertaining to its municipal streets and right-of-ways only <br />and has requested the County to allow it to perform the installation and maintenance of branded <br />street name signs and poles (the "Street Name Signs"), existing striping and marking, new striping <br />and marking, new in -pavement lighted crosswalks and Stop Signs and poles, all new striping and <br />marking will be based on prior County approval; and <br />WHEREAS the City has, by proper resolution, which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and <br />made a part hereof by reference, authorized its officer(s) to enter into this Agreement. <br />NOW THEREFORE, the City and the County agree as follows: <br />1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein and made a part hereof by <br />reference. <br />2. The City will only install and maintain the Street Name Signs, striping and marking, <br />new in -pavement lighted crosswalks and Stop Signs within municipal streets within its boundaries. <br />A copy of the City's Street Name Signs and Stop Signs standard design detail is attached hereto <br />as Exhibit "B." <br />566 <br />
