Neely, Finance Director <br />DATE: May 15, 2025 <br />RE: Approval of Budget Amendment No. BA2425-04 for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of this ordinance. <br />REASONS: <br />This budget amendment is necessaryto record the following transactions: <br />1. Allocate $944,835 this fiscal year to purchase 19 vehicles originally planned for fiscal year 25-26 to <br />prevent delays and avoid potential tariff increases. <br />2. Allocate $230,000 to install cameras in the elevators at Government Center, PCP, Heritage Park <br />and Gateway Park/Pedestrian bridge. <br />3. Allocate $50,539 this fiscal year to purchase 1 vehicle originally planned for fiscal year 25-26 to <br />prevent delays and avoid potential tariff increases. <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br />Strategic Vehicle Purchases Amid Tariffs <br />Due to the potential for upcoming tariffs and vehicle price increases, the Procurement Department has <br />reached out to all Department Heads to review their planned vehicle replacements for the FY26 budget. <br />To avoid incurring higher costs in the new FY, we have considered requesting budget approval to <br />purchase FY26 vehicle replacements now in FY25.
