City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br />(305) 947-0606 City Hall <br />(305) 949-3113 Fax <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners <br />VIA: Stan Morris, City Manager <br />FROM: Edward Santiago, Chief of Police <br />DATE: May 15, 2025 <br />RE: Approval of a First Amendment to the Agreement with Redspeed Florida, LLC <br />for Additional Red -Light Cameras <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of this resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />In an effort to continue to prioritizing pedestrian and motorist safety, this contract amendment with <br />RedSpeed is for additional red-light cameras at the following intersections: 174th Street and Collins <br />Avenue (north and south directions) as well as Sunny Isles Boulevard and Collins Avenue (north and <br />south direction). <br />RedSpeed has provided the city with a quote in the amount of $440,800.00. This contract amendment <br />will increase the total not to exceed amount to $1,330,000.00. The anticipated installation of these <br />cameras is set for July of 2025 and as of that timeline the contract would have an estimated 29 months <br />remaining. <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br />Copies of the complete contract, including all exhibits and attachments, are on file with the Office of the <br />City Clerk and are available upon request. <br />FUNDING SOURCE: <br />Funds have been appropriated in Account No.: 001-3-5210-XXXXX-XXXX. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Resolution <br />First Amendment <br />Item Number: 9.A <br />72 <br />
