RESOLUTION NO. 2025 - <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA; AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF BUDGETED FUNDS FOR THE <br />PURCHASE OF FOUR (4) VEHICLES FROM ALAN JAY FLEET SALES, IN AN <br />AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS AND NO <br />CENTS ($200,000.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS <br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on September 12th, 2024, via Ordinance No. 2024-618, the City Commission <br />of the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") adopted the Operating and Capital Improvement <br />Budget for the Fiscal Year Commencing October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025 <br />("Adopted Budget"); and <br />WHEREAS, City's Public Work's Department is in need of purchasing three (3) 2025 Ford <br />F150's and one (1) 2025 Ford Ranger (the "Vehicles") to transport all necessary tools and <br />equipment needed for various City projects for the continued improvement of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-13(C) of the City's Purchasing Code, purchases made <br />under state general service administration contracts, federal, county or other governmental <br />contracts or competitive bids with other governmental agencies, are exempt from the <br />competitive bidding requirements set forth in Chapter 62; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff has been able to secure the Van from Alan Jay Fleet Sales (the <br />"Vendor") utilizing the 2024 City of Tallahassee Contract No. 5179-2024; and <br />WHEREAS, the purchase of the Vehicles was included in the Adopted Budget; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to authorize the City Manager, or his designee, <br />to expend budgeted funds for the purchase of the Vehicles from the Vendor, in an amount not <br />to exceed Two Hundred Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($200,000.00), which includes a <br />contingency in the amount of Eighteen Thousand Four Hundred Sixty -Five Dollars and No Cents <br />($18,465.00). <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Authority to Expend Budgeted Funds. The City Commission hereby authorizes <br />the City Manager, or his designee, to expend budgeted funds in an amount not to exceed Two <br />Hundred Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($200,000.00), which includes a contingency in the <br />amount of Eighteen Thousand Four Hundred Sixty -Five Dollars and No Cents ($18,465.00) from <br />Alan Jay Fleet Sales. <br />Section 2.
