SECTION III - TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONSISCOPE OF SERVICES <br />3.1 Project Definition and Objective <br />Fort Lauderdale Ocean Rescue is seeking a one (1) year initial contract with four (4) one (1) year <br />renewals contingent on annual appropriation from our City Commission. In the initial year the <br />department will be purchasing three (3) lifeguard towers, One (1) tower without an enclosed <br />storage frame and two (2) towers with an enclosed storage frame. In years two (2) to five (5), it is <br />estimated that we will be replacing two (2) lifeguard towers per year. <br />The awarded Bidder shall be responsible for performing all required site preparation tests, <br />surveys, and studies to prepare the site for the construction and install. <br />Any deviations need to be approved by the city and meet OSHA standards. <br />3.2 Technical Specifications <br />3.21. Towers with enclosed frame with storage <br />- Walls and roof must be insulated for heat and sound reduction. <br />- Total height of 13'6" minimum. <br />- Deck structure should be 12'x12' constructed of marine grade aluminum. <br />- The shelter must be powder coated with marine grade powder inside and outside. <br />- The exterior must have a ceramic coat. <br />- The deck should be elevated minimum 8 feet with an option for ramp and/or stairs. <br />- Railing encircling deck with opening at ramp and/or stairs. <br />- Two (2) Flagpole holders to be included on the back of tower on opposite sides. <br />- The support structure shall be enclosed with composite boards for secure storage with <br />two barn doors for easy access. <br />- A board box measuring 30"x20"x12'6" long with rollers and perforated metal bottom <br />panel must be mounted externally off the base structure. <br />- Tower should have towing eyes on the skids so it can be moved. <br />- The walls must be straight up. <br />- The windows on three sides angle inwards at 14 degrees for glare reduction. <br />- Rear of the tower should have small window that can open and close. <br />- Tower should have upper shelf storage on side of front window. <br />- Tower should include a minimum 12" deep shelf in the front of the tower on the inside <br />to be used as a desk for a work area. <br />Tower should have three aluminum powder coated shutters to cover windows for <br />security and shade. <br />Rear window should have small shutter or awning to secure. <br />Shutters should have pins to secure while open and closed. <br />Windows must be impact glass with dark gray tint. <br />The three main windows should have minimal blind spots in the front. <br />Must be able to have a 360 -degree view of tower surroundings. <br />Tower should have two doors, on North and South side of Tower. <br />The doors must have impact windows and retractable shutters for the windows. <br />Doors should have stainless steel handles. <br />Tower must have large hatch on front wall for ventilation and smaller hatches on <br />CAM #23-0426 <br />Exhibit 1 <br />Page 20 of 43 <br />
