RESOLUTION NO. 2025 - '3 0& 1 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF A PROCLAMATIONS REQUESTED BY <br />CITY ADMINISTRATION; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS <br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on May 15th, 2025, via Ordinance No. 2025-628, the City Commission of the <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") adopted a policy and procedure requiring Commission <br />approval prior to the issuance of official City proclamations; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager's Office recognizes the importance of honoring the <br />dedicated public service and hard work of City employees, often through acknowledgment <br />aligned with nationally or locally designated observance days or weeks; and <br />WHEREAS, such proclamations serve to bolster employee morale and highlight the <br />essential roles played by municipal staff in delivering quality services to the community; and <br />WHEREAS, to streamline the approval process and promote efficiency, the City <br />Manager's Office requests Commission approval for employee recognition proclamations <br />issued throughout the remainder of the 2025 calendar year; and <br />WHEREAS, beginning in November 2025 and continuing annually, proposed <br />proclamations for the following calendar year will be presented to the City Commission for <br />review and approval; and <br />WHEREAS, this process applies exclusively to proclamations initiated by the City <br />Manager's Office and does not affect those brought forward by elected officials. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Approval Issuance of Proclamations. The City Commission hereby approves the <br />issuance of the requested proclamations by City Administration, as follows: <br />August <br />August 31— National Senior Citizen's Day <br />September <br />September 1— Building and Code Staff Appreciation Day <br />September 11— Patriot Day / National Day of Service & Remembrance <br />3rd Tuesday of September — National IT Professional's Day <br />September 26 — Human Resource Professional's Day <br />@BCL@A816FD5A Page 1 of 2 <br />271 <br />
