The incident involved an intoxicated, uninsured driver who was found to be at fault. <br />Insurance provider, PGIT, has approved a settlement in the amount of $28,522.00, which reflects the <br />total value of the vehicle minus a $2,500.00 deductible. The unmarked replacement Explorer is being <br />purchased via Pasco County Contract IFB-RR-21-042 from Bartow Ford for an amount not to exceed <br />$53,415.14. <br />Secondly, in alignment with our ongoing commitment to prioritize public safety through proactive <br />traffic enforcement initiatives, we are seeking approval to purchase one unmarked police vehicle. This <br />vehicle will be assigned to the Traffic Unit and will serve as a strategic asset in enhancing our ability to <br />monitor and enforce traffic laws effectively. This purchase reflects our dedication to innovative <br />approaches in law enforcement and our continued focus on reducing traffic -related incidents within the <br />community. The vehicle we are seeking to purchase is from Bartow Ford and is an unmarked 2022 Ford <br />Mustang GT. The vehicle already comes equipped with police lighting and sirens and has very low <br />mileage. Total price for the vehicle is $37,000, which three quotes are on -file to support this purchase. <br />The purchase price for both vehicles will be in an amount not to exceed $90,415.14. The city is also <br />requesting a $2,000 contingency for any unforeseen price increases that may impact the order of the <br />Item Number: 9.A <br />178 <br />
