RESOLUTION NO. 2014- 2331 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING THE RESULTS OF THE GENERAL ELECTION WHICH WAS HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2014, DECLARING GEORGE "BUD" SCHOLL TO BE ELECTED AS MAYOR; DECLARING ISAAC AELION TO BE ELECTED AS COMMISSIONER, SEAT 4; DECLARING JEANETTE GATTO AS COMMISSIONER, SEAT 2, WHO WAS AUTOMATICALLY ELECTED, HAVING NO OPPONENTS; DISCHARGING THE CANVASSING BOARD FOR RUN -OFF ELECTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach held a General Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2014; and WHEREAS, the Miami -Dade County Supervisor of Elections and her staff of officials served as Canvassing Board for the November 4, 2014 General Election; and WHEREAS, the Canvassing Board met on November 4, 2014, and proceeded to publicly canvass the votes cast for the candidates in the General Election and certified the General Election results; and WHEREAS, City Resolution No. 2014 -2262, designated Emanuel Pine to be the registered voter to serve on the Canvassing Board with the City Manager and City Clerk, in the event a Run -Off Election was needed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Acceptance of Results of General Election. The City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach hereby accepts the results of the General Election held on November 4, 2014, as follows: For MAYOR, the whole numbers of votes cast was 2,798, of which number GEORGE `BUD" SCHOLL received 1,489 votes LEWIS J. THALER received 1. 309 votes For RESIDENTIAL AREA COMMISSIONER -- SEAT 4, the whole numbers of votes cast was 2,961, of which number ISAAC AELION received 1,654 votes ROBERTO "ROB" RODRIGUEZ received 1307 votes 82014 Accepting 110414 General Election Results Page 1
