RESOLUTION NO. 2025 - <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF A PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING <br />SEPTEMBER 27, 2025, AS ANTHONY R. GOMEZ DAY IN THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, Anthony R. Gomez began working at a young age alongside his father, <br />developing the skills and work ethic that would launch a distinguished career in the <br />construction industry; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1992, Anthony Gomez and his brother Gregory Gomez co-founded <br />Unitech Builders Corp., a premier general contracting firm based in the City of Sunny Isles <br />Beach (the "City") and dedicated to excellence in South Florida's construction sector; and <br />WHEREAS, for more than 25 years, Anthony Gomez has led Unitech Builders Corp. with <br />vision and integrity, overseeing transformative projects including custom homes, commercial <br />retail spaces, and industrial developments that have shaped the physical and economic <br />landscape of the City and the surrounding region; and <br />WHEREAS, Anthony Gomez's tireless dedication has significantly contributed to the <br />growth, infrastructure, and cultural vitality of the City, earning him the respect of peers and the <br />gratitude of the community; and <br />WHEREAS, in recognition of his leadership and industry expertise, the Latin Builders <br />Association has elected Anthony Gomez as its 25th President, entrusting him to further the <br />organization's mission of promoting growth, diversity, and excellence in the construction <br />industry; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to honor Anthony R. Gomez for his enduring <br />contributions, exemplary leadership, and unwavering commitment to the prosperity of the City <br />and the broader South Florida region. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Approval Issuance of Proclamation. The City Commission hereby approves the <br />issuance of a proclamation recognizing September 27, 2025, as Anthony R. Gomez Day in the <br />City. <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br />Section 3. Effective Date.
