RESOLUTION NO. 2025 - JI!r <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />RATIFYING THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) 2025 HARLEY DAVIDSON <br />MOTORCYCLES, AND ASSOCIATED EMERGENCY LIGHTING AND EQUIPMENT <br />FROM ALLIGATOR ALLEY HARLEY-DAVIDSON, IN A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO <br />EXCEED FIFTY-THREE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTY-SIX DOLLARS AND <br />FORTY-TWO CENTS ($53,876.42), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the Police Traffic Unit of the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") was in need <br />purchasing two (2) motorcycles and accessories (the "Motorcycles") to meet the needs of the <br />City's Police Department in the performance of law enforcement patrol duties; and <br />WHEREAS, the City solicited three (3) quotes from vendors for the purchase of the <br />Motorcycles; and <br />WHEREAS, Alligator Alley Harley-Davidson (the "Vendor") provided the City with the <br />lowest quote; and <br />WHEREAS, in December 2024, the City issued a purchase order to the vendor in the <br />amount of $49,495.68, below the competitive bidding requirements threshold of the City's <br />Code of Ordinances (the "Code")' and <br />WHEREAS, at the conclusion of the builds of the Motorcycles, the cost of the emergency <br />equipment increased, which brought the total purchase amount to $53,876.42; and <br />WHEREAS, as a result of the unexpected increase in cost, the purchase of the <br />Motocycles was made utilizing the same pricing offered under Hillsborough County Sheriff's <br />Office Contract No. 2024-005; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 62-18(C) of the City's Code, "Purchases made under <br />state general service administration contracts, federal, county or other governmental contracts <br />or competitive bids with other governmental agencies" are exempt from the City's competitive <br />bidding procedures; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to ratify the expenditure of budgeted funds with <br />the Vendor for the purchase of the Motorcycles, in an amount not to exceed Fifty -Three <br />Thousand Eight Hundred Seventy -Six Dollars and Forty -Two Cents ($53,876.42). <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Ratification of Expenditure of Budgeted Funds.
