Pp 4f Wt4 hr <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br />(305) 947-0606 City Hall <br />(305) 949-3113 Fax <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners <br />FROM: Mauricio Betancur, CIVIC, City Clerk <br />DATE: November 20, 2025 <br />RE: Approving the Schedule of Regular City Commission Meetings for Calendar <br />Year 2026 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff is recommending approval of this Resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />This Resolution sets the schedule of Regular City Commission meetings for calendar year 2025. <br />Pursuant to Chapter 74 of the City's Code, meetings are generally held at 6:30 p.m. on the third <br />Thursday of each month, with the exception of the recess month. <br />Additionally, in previous years and whenever possible, the City has made efforts to avoid scheduling its <br />meetings on days that fall on major religious holidays. In 2026, the Jewish holiday of Shavout will <br />commence on May 21 (third Thursday of May). Out of respect and consideration for the City's large <br />Jewish community, its proposed that May's Regular City Commission Meeting be held on Thursday, May <br />14, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br />This schedule is for the regular monthly meetings of the City Commission. City Commission workshops, <br />special and emergency meetings may be scheduled as needed at the request of the Mayor, City <br />Manager, the City Attorney, the City Clerk, or a majority of the City Commission, provided appropriate <br />notice is given pursuant to Florida Statutes and Chapter 74 of the City's Code. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Resolution <br />Item Number: 9.Q <br />385 <br />
