RESOLUTION NO. 2026 - <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF A PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING <br />MARCH 8, 2026, AS INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, International Women's Day is observed annually on March 8 to celebrate the <br />social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and to recognize their vital <br />contributions to communities, governments, and societies worldwide; and <br />WHEREAS, International Women's Day also serves as a global call to action to advance <br />gender equality, promote women's empowerment, and address ongoing challenges faced by <br />women and girls; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") values diversity, inclusion, and equal <br />opportunity, and is committed to fostering a community in which all individuals are respected, <br />supported, and empowered to succeed; and <br />WHEREAS, women play an essential role in the civic, professional, cultural, and family <br />life of the City, contributing to its growth, resilience, and quality of life; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to issue a proclamation recognizing March 8, <br />2026, as International Women's Day in the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br />BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Approval Issuance of Proclamation. The City Commission hereby approves the <br />issuance of a proclamation recognizing March 8, 2026, as International Women's Day in the City <br />of Sunny Isles Beach. <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br />Section 3. Effective Date.
