Russo, City Manager <br />FROM: Bill Evans, Public Works Director <br />DATE: 12/18/2014 <br />A Resolution Approving an Agreement with Lynx <br />RE: Construction Management for Government Center <br />Generator Upgrades <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends City Commission approve the Resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />The City issued RFP 14 -07 -01 soliciting bids for major maintenance and <br />repairs to various City structures and facilities including City Hall, <br />Commission Chambers, Pelican Community Park and Heritage Park. On <br />August li. 2014, a total of three bids were received with costs ranging from <br />S2,871,792.66 to 55,152,023.23 for an overall repair project that included, in <br />addition to Government Center Generator Upgrades, repairs to the <br />Government Center, Pelican Community Park and Heritage Park. A copy of <br />the RFP Opening Report is attached. Staff thoroughly reviewed the bids and <br />determined Lynx Construction Management to be responsive, responsible and <br />the lowest cost proposer. <br />This approval includes upgrading the generator at the Government Center. <br />The existing generator has 500 Kilowatt capacity. In order to power all of <br />City Hall in an emergency, a new 1000 Kilowatt diesel generator will be <br />installed in the existing structure at the southwest corner of the Government <br />Center surface parking lot along with required upgrades to existing electrical <br />panels and subpanels.
