Russo, City Manager <br />FROM: Bill Evans, Public Works Director <br />DATE: 12/18/2014 <br />Resolution Approving Job Order Contract with <br />RE: Southern Underground Industries, Inc. for Small <br />Construction Projects at Various City Facilities and <br />Locations <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of the Resolution. <br />REASONS: <br />There are a variety of small construction projects to be addressed including <br />but not limited to emergency repairs. ITB 14 -10 -02 was issued by the City to <br />solicit non - project specific unit costs in order to undertake needed <br />construction services on an as needed and as requested basis. A bid response <br />was received on December 4; 2014 and staff recommends approval of a <br />contract with Southern Underground Industries; Inc. Known projects to be <br />implemented via a small construction contract include: <br />Storm drainage investigation and possible repairs at 187 Street and Atlantic <br />Boulevard are needed subsequent to recently completed WASA repair of the <br />sanitary sewer system. <br />Repairs and restoration at Intracoastal Parks due to the use of the south end <br />of the south parcel for construction access for emergency seawall repair. <br />Drainage infrastructure at Heritage Park to mitigate persistent drainage <br />problems related to the parking garage. <br />Repairs to a City storm drainage outfall and associated parking lot <br />restoration on the Miami Dade County Fire Station property at 172 Street. <br />httpJ /sumyisles. mu agerida.c /CmerSheet.aspx ?Item ID =1522 112 <br />
