RESOLUTION NO. 2026 - l <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, APPROVING A SPONSORSHIP DONATION IN THE AMOUNT OF TWO <br />THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2,000.00) TO PELICAN HARBOR SEABIRD STATION, INC. <br />IN SUPPORT OF THE 2026 PELICAN PARTY GALA; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO DISBURSE SUCH FUNDS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, Pelican Harbor Seabird Station, Inc. ("Pelican Harbor") is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) <br />organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of sick, injured, and orphaned <br />brown pelicans, seabirds, and other native wildlife in South Florida; and <br />WHEREAS, Pelican Harbor provides vital services to the community including wildlife <br />rescue, medical care for injured animals, environmental education programs, and community <br />engagement initiatives promoting wildlife conservation; and <br />WHEREAS, Pelican Harbor operates primarily through donations and community support <br />and treats thousands of native wildlife patients each year; And <br />WHEREAS, Pelican Harbor will host its annual Pelican Party Gala in 2026 to raise funds to <br />support its wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and education programs; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") finds that <br />supporting organizations dedicated to environmental stewardship, wildlife conservation, and <br />public education provides a benefit to the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to support Pelican Harbor by providing a <br />sponsorship donation in the amount of Two Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($2,000.00) in <br />support of the 2026 Pelican Party Gala. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Authorizing the Sponsorship Donation. The City Commission hereby approves the <br />sponsorship donation in an amount not to exceed Two Thousand Dollars and No Cents <br />($2,000.00) to Pelican Harbor. <br />Section 2. Authority of the City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br />Section 3. Effective Date.
