6.4 Inspections <br />6.4.1. No inspector shall have authority to waive any requirements of the Contract <br />Documents. Any failure or omission on the part of any inspector, the Engineer / Architect or any <br />agent of the City, to condemn any defective work or material shall not release the Contractor from <br />its obligations to install the Work free from faults and defects and to promptly remove and repair <br />any defective or deficient work. The Contractor hereby acknowledges and agrees that no inspector <br />shall have authority to: <br />(a) Authorize any deviation from the Contract Documents or approve any <br />substitute materials or equipment; <br />(b) Undertake any of the responsibilities of the Contractor, subcontractors or <br />Contractor's superintendent; <br />(c) Expedite the Work for the Contractor; <br />(d) Advise on or issue directions relative to any aspect of the means, methods, <br />techniques, sequences or procedures of construction unless such is <br />specifically called for in the Contract Documents; <br />(e) Advise on or issue directions as to safety precautions and programs in <br />connection with the Work. Provided however, this shall not preclude the City <br />inspector from notifying the Contractor of any hazardous or dangerous <br />condition; <br />(f) Participate in specialized field or laboratory tests. <br />6.5 Hours of Construction <br />6.5.1. The Contractor shall minimize the impact of the Project on the general public <br />ensuring that all service interruptions are kept to a minimum and providing temporary services, <br />structures, and facilities as required. The existing service to the residents and businesses may not <br />be interrupted for more than 4 hours without written permission from the City. The Contractor shall <br />perform work between the hours 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 7:00 AM — <br />5:00 PM on Fridays; and weekends with permission or as restricted by the local jurisdiction. Work <br />outside these hours or on weekends and holidays is prohibited without permission from the City. <br />6.6 Coordination and Scheduling of Work <br />6.6.1. The Contractor shall cooperate with the City and any separate contractors retained <br />by the City, and the Contractor shall carefully coordinate and schedule the Work as may be required <br />to accommodate without delay or interference the Work of the City or any of its separate <br />contractors. <br />Page 13 of 44 <br />
