In 2023, the City entered into a Locally Funded Agreement (LFA) with the Florida <br />Department of Transportation (FDOT) for a repair project that would be led by FDOT. The LFA provides <br />that the City is responsible for 25% of the funding of the entire project and FDOT funds the other 75%. <br />The agreement in 2023 was for $1,023,409.00 which the City paid as is required to keep the project <br />moving. <br />Through the design process, it was determined that repairs would not suffice as a solution for this <br />historic bridge. Therefore, the project scope has changed to include a full replacement of the bridge <br />while maintaining the historic elements by repurposing the coral rock forthe aesthetic features. <br />This new scope requires additional funding by both parties. The city's portion is now estimated at <br />$1,665,180. With $1,023,409 already paid, the balance of $641,771 must be committed to FDOT for this <br />project and an updated LFA must be executed. <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br />The project is included in the City's Capital Improvement Program budget.
