<br />24 <br />RFP 26-04-01 CITYWIDE HOLIDAY LIGHTING & DECORATING SERVICES <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />18070 Collins Ave. | Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160 <br />305.792.1707 | sibfl.net | Purchasing@sibfl.net <br />temporary traffic control devices within FDOT rights-of-way in accordance with the latest <br />FDOT standard specifications. <br /> <br />3.2.3 Due to construction projects within the City, FDOT may require that tree pruning be <br />completed at night. <br /> <br />No lane closures, other than in case of an emergency, is allowed, during the time periods <br />of 6:00 AM – 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. The Contractor is responsible to perform <br />the work in accordance with FDOT requirements at no additional cost to the City. If a lane- <br />closure is needed in interior streets, approval must be obtained from the city prior to <br />lane-closure. <br /> <br />3.3 LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: <br /> <br />The City reserves the right to assess liquidated damages if the Contractor fails to promptly address <br />maintenance issues or if the holiday lighting is not fully functional during the specified period. If <br />the Contractor does not repair or replace any non-functional lights or decorations within 8 hours <br />of notification, the City may assess liquidated damages in the amount of $300 per day for each <br />day the issue remains unresolved. These damages are intended to cover the City’s loss of the <br />expected aesthetic and functional quality of the holiday lighting. <br /> <br />3.4 STORAGE OF MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT CONDITION <br />Broken, damaged or equipment delivered in poor condition will not be accepted by the City. <br />Replacement equipment must be delivered within eight (8) hours. The Contractor must provide <br />for own storage of material and equipment, if needed. No on-site storage is permitted at the work <br />area or other public areas; unless, it is pre-approved by the City. <br />3.5 EMPLOYEES AND EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS <br />Contractor shall provide licensed and insured technicians to perform all work. Contractor shall <br />have “on- site” supervisor fully conversant in the safety procedures to be followed in case of injury <br />and/or accident. All work must be performed following EPA requirements and OSHA safety <br />standards and regulations. The contractor shall be responsible for injury to persons caused by the <br />operation of the equipment. <br /> <br />• Contractor shall assign an “On Duty” supervisor who speaks and reads English. <br />• Contractor shall have its employees refrain from smoking in municipal buildings unless <br />in those areas designated for smoking. <br />• Contractor shall provide the City an emergency contact list identifying the names, <br />positions held, phone numbers, and emails of account manager and/or field supervisor <br /> <br />The Contractor shall supply equipment lifts, ladders, electrical tape, staple guns, tie wraps, and <br />any other materials needed to safely and successfully install and remove holiday lights. The <br />contractor shall provide all extension cords, which must be a minimum of 14-gauge wire and <br />grounded. <br />
