RESOLUTION NO. 2026 - 4D <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, <br />FLORIDA, AWARDING RFP NO. 25-08-01 TO RON L. BOOK, P.A. FOR <br />PROFESSIONAL LOBBYING SERVICES; APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH RON <br />L. BOOK, P.A. IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS AND <br />NO CENTS ($60,000.00); AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID <br />AGREEMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS <br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on January 16, 2026, the City of Sunny Isles Beach (the "City") issued Request <br />for Proposals No. 26-01-01 for Professional Lobbying Services (the "RFP"); and <br />WHEREAS, the City sought proposals from qualified firms to provide professional <br />lobbying services and to work with the City Commission, City Attorney, City Manager, and/or <br />designee to identify, develop, and represent legislative and funding priorities for the City at both <br />the state and county levels, including serving, as directed, as a consistent and effective primary <br />point of contact between the City and elected officials, legislative staff, and agency <br />representatives in Tallahassee and Miami -Dade County (the " Lobbying Services"); and <br />WHEREAS, on February 18, 2026, the City received four (4) electronic proposals from <br />GrayRobinson, Pittman Law Group, Ronald L. Book, P.A., and Rubin, Turnbull & Associates; and <br />WHEREAS, following the RFP opening, three (3) firms withdrew their proposals, leaving <br />Ron L. Book, P.A. (the "Firm") as the remaining firm; and <br />WHEREAS, the City -Manager recommends awarding a contract to the Firm for the <br />Lobbying Services; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to award the RFP to, and enter into an <br />Agreement with, the Firm to provide the desired Lobbying Services, in an amount not to exceed <br />Sixty Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($60,000.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. Award of RFP No. 26-01-01. The City Commission hereby awards the RFP to the <br />Firm to provide the desired Lobbying Services. <br />Section 2. Approval an Agreement. The City Commission hereby approves an Agreement <br />with the Firm to provide the desired Lobbying Services, in an amount not,to exceed Sixty <br />Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($60,000.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br />Section 3.
