e tp�pK 5 <br />CfTr of sty" l+i3G <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br />(305) 947-0606 City Hall <br />(305) 949-3113 Fax <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners <br />VIA: Stan Morris, City Manager <br />FROM: Edward Santiago, Chief of Police <br />DATE: June 18, 2026 <br />RE: Approval of the Fourth Amendment to the Agreement with Allied Security for <br />Government Center Lobby Security Guard Services <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />This item is presented for consideration by the City Commission. <br />REASONS: <br />The Police Department is seeking to renew and enter into a fourth amendment to the original <br />agreement with Universal Protection Service d/b/a Allied Universal Security Services for security guard <br />services. This amendment is requesting a not to exceed amount of $261,000 bringing the total not to <br />exceed amount to $1,284,532.16. This NTE amount includes holiday pay for security guards and as - <br />needed security services for holidays, such as Memorial Day and July 4th Weekend. The renewal term is <br />effective July 1, 2026—June 30, 2027. <br />The Police Department offers service to the community 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Due to the <br />physical location of the Police Department there is a need to keep the Government Center lobby <br />accessible to the public during the hours of operation for the Police Department. Additionally, there is a <br />need to screen visitors during hours of operation for other departments. Universal Protection Service <br />d/b/a Allied Universal Security Services will be obligated to provide one (1) unarmed level 2 security <br />officer to be stationed at the City's Government Center Lobby, 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 <br />days, inclusive of all holidays. The security officer assigned to the City will also be responsible for <br />receiving and checking in any visitors to the Government Center, for all floors and departments, <br />including the library, utilizing the City's Visitor Management System. Lastly for visitors to Government <br />Center after the City's normal hours of operation, the assigned security officer shall provide access to <br />any individuals seeking to visit the Police Department. <br />Item Number: 9.E <br />226 <br />
