The City of Homestead selected BA to develop a preliminary master
plan for this 129-acre parcel of land in the southeast section of the city.
Formerly serving as a regional baseball and athletic facility, the site was
underdeveloped and in need of significant improvements to function as
a new regional recreation facility. The development program for the future
park includes utilizing several of the existing baseball facilities and parking
areas while significantly increasing other sport facilities.
The master plan included a regulation eight-lane, 400-meter track and field
facility, four synthetic soccer fields, a community center, a recreation boat
dock, a pump track, synthetic turf, picnic shelters, two shaded playgrounds,
three restroom/concession facilities, a network of exercise/walking trails,
several parking areas, a large multipurpose field, three new baseball/softball
fields, a central open multipurpose lawn, retention areas, basketball courts,
pickle ball courts, and sand volleyball. The master plan is complete and the
BA team is currently providing design services.
HOMESTEAD SPORTS COMPLEX
Homestead, Florida
CLIENT
City of Homestead
SIZE
129 acres
COST
$35 million
COMPLETION
2028 (est.)
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Master Planning, Architecture, Landscape
Architecture, and Urban Design and Planning
69 | CiTY OF SUNNY iSLES BEACH | RFQ #26-07-01 CONTiNUiNG PROFESSiONAL ARCHiTECTURAL AND ENGiNEERiNG CONSULTiNG SERViCES (CCNA)
