Due to failure of thegenerator during Hurricane Irma, the existing 750kw interior generator will be replaced by a new 750kwexterior generator. The existing generator is fueled by an existing 8,000-gallon underground storagetank and day tank. It will provide full back-up power for the Police Headquarters building and adjacentFire Department Station 65 building. •Inc. Village of Westhampton Beach Main Street Improvements Design; Westhampton Beach, NY: LeadElectrical Engineer for the removal of overhead utility wires and design of lighting replacement for thereconstruction of approximately 2,700 feet of roadway. Coordinated closely with PSEG Long Island onthe location of approximately 7,200 feet of electrical conduit and 37 pull boxes and transformer concrete pads for primary service within Main Street. Lighting replacements includes decorate street lightingproviding appropriate pedestrian and roadway illumination. Project received a 2020 ACEC PlatinumEngineering Award. •Town of Hempstead New Office Building; Merrick, NY: Lead Electrical Engineer for a needs assessmentstudy for the development of a new office building for the Town’s Department of Sanitation. Developedthree new office building designs for Town consideration, along with site scenarios. •Hudson River Park Trust (HRPT) Sports Field Lighting Upgrades; New York, NY: As part of an on-call contract with the HRPT, providing design and construction administration support services forreplacement of the sports field lighting at Hudson River Park Trust’s Pier 40. H2M’s design solutionincludes the removal of select light poles while others will remain in place. A cluster of new fixtures wasdesigned for the poles that are remaining. Although the total number of fixtures per pole was increased,the overall weight of the new cluster was verified and will not exceed the allowable gravity load of theexisting light poles. At the locations where light poles will be removed, the exposed holes will be patched per the structural engineer’s design details. •New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) Mt Ivy Standby GeneratorDesign; Pomona, NY: Supervised the development of design drawings to replace an existing dieselgenerator with a propane-fueled generator. The design included a new above ground propane tank, new automatic transfer switch and generator disconnect. •New York State OPWDD Stoneham Standby Generator Design; New City, NY: Supervised thedevelopment of design drawings to replace an existing diesel generator with a propane-fueled generator. The design included a new above ground propane tank, new automatic transfer switch and generatordisconnect. •United States Postal Services (USPS) Fire Alarm Investigation; Montvale, NJ: QA/QC Reviewer for areport issued to the USPS based on a site survey of the existing fire alarm system at the main post officein Montvale, NJ. The team evaluated the fire alarm control panel (FACP), fire alarm system devices,system wiring methods, power supplies, remote reporting capabilities, and any possible obstructions.The report included review of inspection reports, developed a scope of work for upgrades and repairs,and provided a preliminary cost estimate for the proposed work. He is also involved in shop drawing review and construction phase services. Mr. Kim is proficient in Revit MEP and has developed the electrical portion of the building information models (BIM) for key projects.
