City of Sunny Isles Beach, FL | RFQ # 26-07-01 | Continuing Professional Architectural and Engineering Consulting Services (CCNA) | 96 <br />Simon Coleman possesses extensive project experience in structural and civil <br />engineering throughout southern Florida. As a project manager and Engineer-of- <br />Record (EOR), he has successfully designed and permitted a variety of projects, <br />including private developments, county and municipal initiatives, and Department of <br />Transportation (DOT) projects. His proficiency in navigating local, state, and federal <br />permitting processes, including with the Army Corps of Engineers and the Florida <br />Department of Environmental Protection, distinguishes him in the field. <br />Simon excels in project management, client and subconsultant coordination, <br />and civil/site design and permitting. His strong capabilities in drainage design and <br />modeling complement his extensive structural experience, which includes the <br />design of bridges, box culverts, boat ramps, marina structures, retaining walls, and <br />bulkheads. <br />Relevant Experience <br />STA-1W Structures Refurbishment Project (Proj. No. 101280); Palm Beach County, FL <br />Client: Palm Beach Count | Duration: 2024-2026 <br />Structural Engineer/EOR. Provided oversight for the design of a series of box culverts <br />and monitoring station platforms, including design of four box culvert control <br />structures to control the flow between cells in Stormwater Treatment Area 1W. The <br />culverts consist of double 10-foot by 4-foot barrels, 40-feet-long with automatic <br />control gates on the upstream side. The culverts have steel sheet pile wing walls at <br />each corner and a precast concrete control building on the top of the levee. Worked <br />closely with the design team to develop concrete repair details for the control <br />structures. <br />Box Culvert Repairs (Work Order No. ECF 2024-001); Palm Beach County, FL <br />Client: Port of Palm Beach <br />EOR. Structural assessment of three concrete box culverts totaling 410 feet. Inspected <br />culverts both visually and by using robotic rovers to evaluate the extent of corrosion <br />and deterioration on the culvert interior walls. A comprehensive report was prepared <br />for the Port, outlining recommendations for repairing certain sections and replacing <br />others. Key considerations, including dewatering, safety, construction phasing, and <br />minimizing impacts to Port operations during construction, were incorporated into the <br />final construction documents. <br />Access Bridge for S6 Pump Station (Proj. No. 101173); Palm Beach County, FL <br />Client: South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) | Duration: 2023-2024 <br />EOR. Performed construction services as the engineer-of-record for a single lane <br />bridge with four 35-foot spans consisting of Florida Slab Beams supported on <br />reinforced concrete pile bents with 24-inch prestressed concrete piles. Work has <br />included review and approval of all contractor submittals (including shop drawings, <br />cost-loaded schedules, etc.) responding to RFIs, construction inspections and <br />observations, coordinating and attending project meetings including pre-pile <br />installation and pre-concrete pour meetings. The bridge replaces a box culvert at the <br />entrance to the Spur Canal from the L-15 Canal to accommodate the widening of the <br />Spur Canal as the intake supply to the future G-6A Pump Station. GM2 also designed <br />the civil improvements associated with the project.
