<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />PARKWAY MIDDLE SCHOOL <br />Lauderhill, Florida <br /> <br />Client: School Board of Broward County <br />Program: SMART Program <br />Campus: 15 Acres • 28 Buildings <br />Construction Cost: $10 Million <br />Project Duration: 8 Months <br />Services: Architecture • Civil • Structural • Mechanical • Electrical • Plumbing • Fire <br />Protection <br />PROJECT OVERVIEW <br />Crain Atlantis provided multidisciplinary design services for comprehensive renovations to Parkway <br />Middle School as part of Broward County Public Schools' SMART Program. The project <br />encompassed a 15-acre, 28-building campus originally constructed in 1958, requiring extensive <br />coordination of improvements across existing facilities and infrastructure <br />CRAIN ATLANTIS' ROLE <br />Architecture & Facility Renovations <br />Improvements included reroofing, media center renovations, ADA restroom upgrades, door and <br />window replacements, and exterior painting throughout the campus. <br /> <br />Civil & Storm Drainage <br />Provided design detailing for connections between existing roof drainage and the campus storm <br />drainage system. <br /> <br />Structural Engineering <br />Designed reinforcement of existing roof systems, including additional roof bar joists, bridging <br />members, and replacement of metal decking as required to meet Florida Building Code loading <br />requirements. <br /> <br />Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing <br />The project included replacement of rooftop units, air-handling units, fan-coil units, and water-cooled <br />chillers across multiple campus buildings, associated electrical improvements, and plumbing fixture <br />replacement. <br /> <br />Fire Protection & Life Safety <br />Provided design for campus-wide replacement <br />of the fire alarm system. <br /> <br />Bidding Through Closeout <br />Crain's responsibilities extended beyond design <br />and permitting to include assistance with bidding <br />and award, construction contract administration, <br />cost management, warranty administration, <br />substantial completion, and project closeout. <br />
