<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />WEST HOLLYWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL <br />Hollywood, Florida <br /> <br />Client: Broward County Public Schools <br />Program: SMART Program / Campus Renovation <br />Construction Cost: $3.8 Million <br />Campus Size: 150,000 SF <br />Services: Architecture • Civil • Structural • Mechanical • Electrical • Plumbing • Fire <br />Protection • Construction Administration <br />PROJECT OVERVIEW <br />Crain Atlantis served as Prime A/E for comprehensive renovations to the approximately 150,000-SF <br />West Hollywood Elementary School campus. The project included complete HVAC system <br />renovation, campus-wide fire alarm replacement, building-envelope improvements, and associated <br />architectural, structural, electrical, and civil improvements. <br />CRAIN ATLANTIS' ROLE <br />HVAC & Building Systems Modernization <br />Designed a new high-efficiency campus chilled-water system, including air handling units, an air- <br />cooled chiller and associated pumps, chilled-water piping distribution, DX split-system replacements, <br />and a new energy management system. <br /> <br />Electrical & Fire Alarm Improvements <br />Designed a new campus-wide voice-annunciated fire alarm system, including replacement of fire <br />alarm wiring/conduits and breakers, together with electrical power improvements associated with the <br />HVAC upgrades. <br /> <br />Building Envelope & Structural Improvements <br />Provided building-envelope improvements including windows and doors, stucco, painting, and <br />portable reroofing/refurbishment. Structural work included wind-load considerations and design of <br />concrete pads associated with the chiller yard. <br /> <br />Civil & Site Improvements <br />Project improvements included condensate lines, roof drains, aluminum fencing, walkways, and <br />enhancements to the chiller yard. <br /> <br />HVHZ Design <br />Crain performed evaluation and design to address 180-MPH Hurricane Wind Design within the High <br />Velocity Hurricane Zone, including windows, roofing and rooftop equipment. <br /> <br />Design Through Construction <br />Crain's services began with a comprehensive assessment of facility and school needs and continued <br />through preparation of contract documents, bidding and construction administration. <br /> <br />
