CURTIS + ROGERS <br />DESIGN STUDIO, INC <br />Aida M. Curtis, FASLA is a nationally recognized leader positioning landscape architecture at <br />the forefront of climate adaptation and resilient urban design. For more than four decades, <br />she has delivered innovative, practical, and cost-eff ective solutions that set the benchmark <br />for resilience planning in South Florida. Her landmark work includes the José Martí Park <br />Adaptive Redesign—establishing Miami’s fi rst replicable toolkit of adaptive strategies— <br />and the Back Bay Study Alternative Plan, a nature-based approach demonstrating viable <br />resilience alternatives for urban waterfront protection. <br />Appointed to Miami-Dade County’s Climate and Heat Health Task Force, she helped shape <br />the County’s fi rst Extreme Heat Action Plan through urban forest expansion strategies. As <br />Chair of the ASLA Biodiversity & Climate Action Committee and a board member of the <br />Landscape Architecture Foundation, she advances policy, practice, and advocacy to make <br />communities more sustainable, equitable, and climate-ready. <br />Ms. Curtis specializes in seeking consensus in complex multi-disciplinary projects. Through <br />eff ective communication skills, Ms. Curtis navigates through layered issues by illustrating <br />alternatives and addressing specifi c concerns with multiple interested parties. Her ability <br />to present ideas and analyze multiple solutions has been a key skill in achieving overall <br />consensus. Her experience in public projects has provided her with a depth of knowledge <br />and strategies that can be utilized during Community Input and Public Involvement sessions. <br />Ms. Curtis’ commitment to sustainability and improvement of the public realm is the <br />hallmark of projects developed under her supervision. Her solutions are creative, <br />practical, and cost-eff ective. She prides herself in giving clients personalized attention <br />and direct involvement in their projects.
