R E L E VA N T E X P E R I E N C E <br />IPG Shanghai Office Por tfolio <br />LO CATION <br />Shanghai, China <br />SI ZE <br />110,000 SF <br />S COPE <br />Design–Build <br />CO MP L ETI ON <br />2014 - 2016 <br />COST <br />apx. $10M+ / multiple <br />floors <br />EXPERT I SE <br />Workplace, Interior <br />Following the successful delivery of McCann Worldgroup's Shanghai <br />workplace, Eric Dempsey led the design of more than 110,000 square feet of <br />workplace environments for multiple Interpublic Group (IPG) companies, <br />including McCann Worldgroup, McCann Health, FCB, and Mediabrands. <br />Challenges:  Each IPG agency required a distinct workplace identity while <br />occupying the same commercial tower. The projects were delivered in multiple <br />phases under constrained budgets and aggressive schedules, requiring close <br />coordination between international clients, local consultants, contractors, and <br />suppliers across language and cultural boundaries. <br />Our Approach: As Design Director, Eric Dempsey led a multidisciplinary team <br />of more than 20 designers, visualization specialists, engineers, estimators, <br />procurement staff, and CAD technicians. A flexible workplace design language <br />was developed that could be adapted to each agency's culture while <br />maintaining efficiency in planning, documentation, procurement, and <br />construction. Eric presented design concepts to multinational leadership in <br />English while coordinating day-to-day project execution with local teams in <br />Chinese. <br />Benefits: The portfolio delivered cohesive, high-performance workplace <br />environments tailored to each agency's operational needs while supporting <br />long-term growth within Huaihai Plaza.
