R E L E VA N T E X P E R I E N C E <br />Sabic China Research & Design Center <br />LO CATION <br />Shanghai, China <br />SI ZE <br />140,000 SF <br />S COPE <br />Design Services <br />CO MP L ETI ON <br />2011 <br />COST <br />Est. $10M <br />EXPERT I SE <br />Laborator y / Office / <br />Innovation Center <br />Eric Dempsey contributed to the design of SABIC's 140,000-square-foot China <br />Research & Design Center in Shanghai, helping create a flagship research and <br />innovation campus for one of the world's leading petrochemical companies. <br />Challenges:  The project required integrating global corporate standards with <br />local construction practices while delivering a highly technical environment for <br />research, laboratories, and corporate offices. Close coordination was required <br />among Saudi leadership, Chinese stakeholders, consultants, and an <br />international design team to ensure the facility met both operational <br />requirements and SABIC's global brand standards. <br />Our Approach: Working with M Moser Associates, Eric Dempsey contributed <br />to the architectural and interior design of all four floors, including the lobby, <br />showroom, laboratories, offices, auditorium, cafeteria, fitness facilities, and <br />collaborative spaces. BIM coordination, detailed technical documentation, and <br />integrated specifications supported multidisciplinary collaboration while <br />incorporating SABIC's advanced plastics technologies as both functional <br />building materials and an expression of the company's innovation. <br />Benefits: The completed facility established a benchmark research and <br />workplace environment supporting innovation, collaboration, and corporate <br />identity throughout Asia.
