Johns Hopkins selected Kimley-Horn to perform a peer <br />review of the existing civil and structural design for upgrades to the All Children’s Hospital (ACH) <br />Central Energy Plant (CEP) within the 5th Street S corridor. The CEP provides steam, chilled water, <br />and backup generation for the ACH and outpatient care center (OCC) via a direct burial system of <br />pipes and duct banks. Kimley-Horns scope of services included peer review of the prior consultants <br />assumptions and field walk, peer review of the current 100% design development, identification <br />of alternatives, preparations of calculations and exhibits, and a final report of findings which will <br />include cost estimations and timelines. The final report addressed the current design solution, <br />suggested alternates, and other possible solutions such as maintenance strategies and additional <br />upgrades. <br />Cyril E. King International Airport Parking Garage and Transportation Center General <br />Engineering Consultant, St. Thomas, VI — Project Engineer. The Virgin Islands Port Authority <br />(VIPA), an autonomous agency that manages both the airports and most of the public seaports in the <br />U.S. Virgin Islands, has retained the assistance of Kimley-Horn for civil and structural engineering <br />services for developing construction documents for a new parking and transportation center at <br />the Cyril E. King Airport in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. The proposed area of construction is located <br />on the existing surface parking east of the existing airport terminal. The proposed parking garage <br />will provide approximately 500 parking spaces for visitors, employees, and rental car operations. <br />Associated with the parking garage, the project will include limited pedestrian connections through <br />the existing roadway and limited roadway improvements within the Airport. <br />Tallahassee International Airport, Rental Car QTA Facility and Parking Garage, <br />Tallahassee, FL — Project Engineer. Kimley-Horn assisted Tallahassee International Airport with <br />the design and construction of a rental car quick-turnaround (QTA) facility located east of the <br />existing public parking areas. The consolidated facility was planned to accommodate current and <br />future demand and included fueling, washing, cleaning, office, and maintenance functions. The <br />project also included roadway improvements to enhance circulation and connectivity between the <br />terminal, parking facilities, proposed QTA, and Capital Circle SW, including a roadway realignment, <br />new roundabout, perimeter road, and access improvements serving the QTA, ready/return lot, cargo <br />area, and terminal service road. An expansion of the terminal frontage roadway was proposed to <br />allow a direct underpass connection between the QTA and ready/return lot, providing dedicated <br />rental car staff access while minimizing use of public roadways. Future phases included expansion <br />of the ready/return lot, construction of a parking garage above the facility, expansion of the public <br />parking system, and additional circulation improvements. <br />Port Canaveral Cruise Terminal 4 - Site Design Phase, City of Canaveral, FL — Project <br />Engineer. Port Canaveral selected Kimley-Horn to design roadway improvements and modifications <br />to the SR528 interchange, including roadway widening and improvements to George King Boulevard, <br />Dave Neisbet Drive, Scallop Drive, and Mullet Road. In addition, the project consists of parking <br />garage design criteria preparation, complete site civil design, access gates, traffic signals, structural <br />engineering for the culvert and roadway structure, landscape architecture, and coordination with the <br />cruise terminal building and Cruise Terminal 4 berth design. <br />60
