Section 6
Understanding of the City's Needs
6.1 Understanding of the RFQ Objectives
The City of Sunny Isles Beach is seeking qualified architectural professionals who can provide a
broad range of services as individual needs arise under a continuing services contract.
Assignments may vary considerably in size, scope, complexity, and schedule, requiring a
consultant that can respond efficiently while providing consistent professional and technical
support.
Schindler Architects understands that the purpose of this contract is to provide the City with readily
available architectural expertise for projects that may include planning, studies, design,
renovations, rehabilitation, permitting, bidding assistance, construction administration, and other
related professional services. The City may require support for both planned capital improvements
and individual facility needs that develop during the term of the contract.
The firm also recognizes that many assignments may involve existing or occupied public facilities.
These projects require careful evaluation of existing conditions, coordination with City operations,
attention to accessibility and code requirements, and design solutions that minimize disruption
while addressing the City's immediate and long-term needs.
Schindler Architects views this contract as an ongoing professional relationship rather than a
series of unrelated assignments. The firm's goal will be to become familiar with the City's facilities,
standards, priorities, and staff so that each successive assignment can be approached with
greater efficiency and a clear understanding of the City's expectations.
