The S-27 structure (C-7 Canal, City of Miami) and S- <br />29 structure (C-9 Canal, City of North Miami Beach) are receiving new forward-flow pump stations and structure <br />rehabilitation to address projected overtopping under future sea-level-rise conditions, advancing from Intermediate Design <br />through Corrected Final / Ready-to-Advertise. <br />TEC provides site-civil design support, site-investigation coordination, utility design and coordination, and code/permitting <br />compliance for both sites. At S-27, the new station totals 1,500 cfs through three 500-cfs electric vertical-shaft axial-flow <br />pumps in a 3-bay District Type 3 configuration; TEC's scope includes site layout and grading, a new steel sheet-pile bulkhead <br />with concrete cap, paved access roads, staging areas, and the utility conflict-resolution matrix (including FPL overhead <br />distribution within the footprint). At S-29, the 2,500-cfs station uses five primary plus one redundant 500-cfs pumps in a 6- <br />bay configuration, with equivalent TEC site-civil support. The project is anticipated to be funded in part by a FEMA grant. <br />Scope of TEC Services <br />•Site layout and grading design for pump-station footprints, access roads, staging areas, and contractor work zones <br />•Steel sheet-pile bulkhead with concrete cap; canal-side improvements and resilient finished-floor elevations <br />•Utility conflict identification and resolution matrix, including FPL overhead distribution relocations <br />•Survey coordination (topographic and bathymetric) and geotechnical data review informing site-civil decisions <br />•Code and permitting compliance reviews; integration with structural, mechanical, electrical, and I&C disciplines through RTA <br />design <br />Relevance to the City of Sunny Isles Beach (Civil No. 3 / CEI No. 8) <br />•Pumped drainage for coastal flooding. The engineering behind the RFQ's gravity-well-to-pressurized-well conversion scope, <br />at regional scale — pump selection context, wet-well siting, and resiliency criteria. <br />•Sea-level-rise design criteria. Resilient finished-floor and freeboard practice applicable to every City stormwater asset, <br />seawall interface, and outfall. <br />•S-29 sits on the City's doorstep.
