<br />Southeast Regional Planning Model Version 9 Development (SERPM9) | Modeling Team Lead - As a sub consultant to WSP, Corradino developed key components of the SERPM9 project. Mr. Varanasi played a pivotal role in managing the Corradino project team on various model elements development, including the non-ABM models and highway assignments calibration. Mr. Varanasi played an instrumental role in spearheading the network trimming process of SERPM9 and the PTV VISUM coordination activities.
<br />FDOT District 4, I-95 PD&E Forecasts Development | Task Manager - Mr. Varanasi led the traffic forecast development efforts for different I-95 corridor PD&E studies between Hallandale Beach Boulevard and Griffin Road in Broward County. The study involved developing forecasts for I-95 general use, express lanes, and arterial intersections. Mr. Varanasi applied macro models’ integration with VISSIM microsimulation inputs.
<br />FDOT District 4, Broward County Rail Project Arterial Intersections and Grade Crossings Traffic Forecasts Development | Task Manager - Mr. Varanasi led the traffic forecast development efforts for different arterial intersections and grade crossings in the Broward County Rail and Broward County South Rail projects. Mr. Varanasi applied innovative subarea modeling techniques to calibrate the volumes against traffic counts using CUBE Analyst. Mr. Varanasi applied macro models’ integration with VISSIM Synchro microsimulation inputs.
<br />FDOT District 4, Continuing Services/District-wide contracts for Regional Models Support/Maintenance and Treasure Coast Regional Planning Models 5 and 6 | Project Manager - Performed project management and technical tasks for these contracts between 2012 and 2025. Under these contracts, Mr. Varanasi successfully managed several work orders, including the Southeast Florida Regional Planning Model (SERPM8) maintenance, RTTAC-MS meetings, Treasure Coast Regional Planning Model Versions 5 and 6 development, TCRPM regional plan forecasts development support, and providing on-call/on-site support services. As part of TCRPM model development and training, Mr. Varanasi led the project advisory committee meetings with Martin MPO, St. Lucie TPO, Indian River MPO, and FDOT District 4. In addition, Mr. Varanasi also managed the maintenance tasks of the SERPM7 and SERPM8 models under these contracts.
<br />St. Lucie TPO, 2045 Major Land Use Data Update for Adoption by the Governing Board and Application in TCRPM5.1, and the TPO GPC task work orders | Project Manager - Mr. Varanasi led the land use data forecasting process for the St. Lucie TPO’s 2045 data update using several significant regional developments. The tasks included stakeholder coordination, analysis of the existing and committed data, adjusting future control totals to the BEBR high estimates, TCRPM5.1 model revisions using this data, and presentations to the Governing Board and its advisory committees. In addition, Mr. Varanasi managed several task work orders under the TPO GPC, including the carbon footprint reduction strategies modeling, sustainable transportation infrastructure planning, and the TPO’s micro mobility study.
<br />SR 826 PD&E/SIMR Study/30% Plans, Add Capacity, and Interchange Improvements | Modeling team lead - 8.4 miles in Miami-Dade County, freeway capacity project, which involved corridor-wide improvements, interim roadway and bridge improvements evaluation and implementation, interchange modifications, inter-phase coordination with adjacent MDX ongoing projects, and the evaluation of ITS technologies.
<br />FDOT D4, Design Traffic Forecasting Guidelines Development | Project Manager - Mr. Varanasi was approached by FDOT D4 to write Design Traffic guidelines, emphasizing Managed Lane forecasting, as this section was not thoroughly addressed in the FDOT Project Traffic Handbook. Mr. Varanasi completed Part 1 of this project and provided a draft submittal. As part of Part 2, training was provided to FDOT D4 users.
<br />FDOT D2, I-295 Western Beltway Bluetooth Origin-Destination (OD) Survey | Analysis Lead - Mr. Varanasi completed a Bluetooth Survey Design for the I-295 Western Beltway Corridor in Jacksonville, with 59 OD locations. The OD survey was expanded using the Iterative Proportion Fitting technique to represent daily and peak period travel patterns. This data was used to calibrate models of corridor macro and microsimulation.
<br />Miami-Dade TPO, Miami-Dade Systemwide STOPS Model and Multimodal Forecasts Development, Miami, FL | Project Manager - Performed project management activities and managed sub consultants in developing the 2015 Miami-Dade systemwide STOPS model. In addition, Mr. Varanasi provided technical assistance in developing corridor transit ridership forecasts, GTFS network coding, STOPS model skims development and land use allocation procedures development.
