<br />Broward/Palm Beach County Line. The PD&E Study recommends adding lanes, new collector-distributor roadway systems, and interchanges at the intersection of US 441, Lyons Road, Florida’s Turnpike, and Powerline Road.
<br />FDOT D6, SR 826 PD&E/SIMR Study, Add Express Lanes, Miami-Dade County, FL | Quality Control Manager - A Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for SR 826 (Palmetto Expressway) from US 1 (SR 5) to SR 836 (Dolphin Expressway) covers about seven miles. The PD&E Study suggested corridor improvements that increase highway and interchange capacity by adding an express lane system and various interchange upgrades. It assessed potential enhancements including the addition of dynamically priced express lanes, access and ramp connections to those lanes (ingress and egress points), changes to existing entrance and exit ramps at interchanges within the project area, and intersection improvements such as widening and turning lane adjustments along crossing roads to facilitate ramp changes and improve access and traffic flow both upstream and downstream from the interchanges.
<br />FDOT D4, Interstate 95 (I-95) PD&E/SIMR Study, Interchange, and Intersection Improvements, Broward County, FL | Project Manager - Conducting a PD&E Study and Systems Interchange Modification Report (SIMR) for a section of Interstate 95 (I-95) from south of Hallandale Beach Boulevard (SR 858) to north of Hollywood Boulevard (SR 820), approximately three (3) miles. This study evaluates the potential modification of existing entrance and exit ramps serving the three interchanges within the project limits. Widening and turn lane modifications are also being assessed along Hallandale Beach Boulevard, Pembroke Road, and Hollywood Boulevard to facilitate the ramp modifications and improve the access and operation of the corridors upstream and downstream from the interchanges.
<br />FDOT D6, I-75 PD&E/SIMR Study, Add Express Lanes, Miami-Dade County, FL | Quality Control Manager - The PD&E Study assesses various improvements along the I-75 corridor in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties. These improvements include the potential addition of reversible, managed, express, and auxiliary freeway lanes; new service interchanges; enhancements to existing interchanges; and a new Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route. These elements were combined to create multiple alternative concepts for the I-75 corridor. The improvements are necessary to accommodate forecasted vehicular growth, facilitate hurricane and other emergency evacuations, and enhance connectivity among I-75, SR 826, Gratigny Parkway (SR 924), Homestead Extension of Florida’s Turnpike (HEFT/SR 821), and I-595.
<br />FDOT D4, I-95 PD&E Study, Add Express Lanes (Phase 3), Broward and Palm Beach Counties, FL | Project Manager - The PD&E Study was initiated as part of the planning process to evaluate the implementation of two tolled express lanes in each direction to alleviate the current traffic conditions, address mainline capacity issues, and implement interchange modification solutions to the Interstate 95 (I-95) corridor. The study limits were south of Commercial Boulevard in Broward County to south of Glades Road in Palm Beach County. Interchange improvements were identified during the I-595/ I-95 Master Plan Study and the need for express lanes in the I-95 Corridor Planning Study. The project was approximately 13.7 miles long. The study addressed existing and projected operating deficiencies along this section of I-95, including mainline capacity, interchange geometry, and ramp terminals. The study area exceeded the minimum standards of FDOT Level of Service (LOS). I-95 has a functional classification of urban principal arterial-interstate.
<br />FDOT D2 & D5, I-75 (SR 93) Corridor Planning Study, Feasibility Study, Sumter, Marion, Alachua, Columbia and Suwannee Counties FL | Quality Control Manager - The feasibility study was to add corridor and interchange capacity. Evaluate express lanes, general-use lanes, and auxiliary lanes. The study focused on three areas: 1) D2 & D5 corridor typical section evaluation; 2) D2 & D5 Truck operations; and 3) 13 Interchange improvements in D2, which involved one system-to-system and 12 service interchanges.
<br />FDOT D6, East/West Corridor Multimodal (Transit) Study Review | Project Manager - The purpose of the assignment is to further explore the findings of the summary briefing that had been presented to senior management of the department, and to assist the department in planning the potential development of an East-West Multimodal (Transit) Corridor within Miami-Dade County, and to prepare a full draft report for submittal to the department.
<br />FDOT D6, SR 826 East/West PD&E/SIMR Study, Add Express Lanes/Bus Rapid Transit | Deputy Project Manager and Public Involvement Functional Manager - CE-II study to add managed lanes and modify interchanges along the SR 826/Palmetto Expressway corridor from I-75 to Golden Glades Interchange, to improve mobility, reduce congestion, and provide more travel options in the area.
<br />SR 924 (Gratigny Parkway) West Extension Project Development & Environment Study | Project Manager - The Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX) conducted a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for (SR924), also known as the Gratigny Parkway, from SR-826 (Palmetto Expressway) to the Homestead Extension of the Florida Turnpike (HEFT). The objective of the study was to extend the SR-924 corridor from its current western terminus at SR-826 to the HEFT. This extension aimed to improve access and meet east-west mobility needs for commuters and freight traffic. This improvement would have alleviated existing and future local traffic congestion by providing improved access to the integrated expressway network of HEFT, SR 924, I-75, and SR 826. The current lack of access to the expressways in the area and the lack of direct connections within the expressway network had created congested traffic conditions throughout the study area.
