Surveying and Mapping
CGA is an industry leader in applying 3D Laser Scanning technology to real-world applications.
Similar to a camera but much more detailed, laser scanning involves the capture of digital
information that can be processed into point cloud data and used by a variety of software
platforms such as AutoCAD and Revit. The benefits of laser scanning include the ability
to obtain large amounts of survey data in a non-contact environment. CGA is using this
methodology and a Trimble X7 Laser Scanner to capture survey data of building facades
for hurricane hardening applications. Multiple 3D scans are taken around a building from
ground level to the roof and processed into an overall point cloud, which enables the end
Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc.
A SAFEbuilt Company
Landscape Architects
CGA brings extensive experience in the full lifecycle of design implementation—from initial
concept development through design refinement and into construction execution. Our
team comprises professionals with a wide range of relevant licenses, certifications, and
cross-disciplinary educational backgrounds, which supports our commitment to delivering
comprehensive and well-integrated projects.
Our approach is grounded in thoughtful contextual analysis, inclusive stakeholder engagement,
and a creative process that balances visionary thinking with practical implementation. This
methodology ensures that our solutions are both imaginative and achievable.
We offer a comprehensive suite of services tailored to meet the diverse needs of municipalities.
These services include hardscape, greenway, and streetscape design; recreation and park
facility planning; municipal landscape code compliance and inspection; redevelopment
master planning; arborist and vegetation consulting; irrigation system design; and detailed
planting design for varied conditions such as parks and open spaces, transportation corridors,
roundabouts, transit shelters, decorative paving systems, ecological mitigation areas, visual
buffers, and general site landscapes.
General Civil Engineers
CGA’s civil engineering department has multiple areas of expertise, including municipal,
utility, land development, stormwater, and roadway engineering, as well as traffic engineering
and transportation planning. CGA has the capability—both internally and/or through the
coordination of subconsultants—to effectively design and manage the projects the City needs
completed per the RFQ.
Our municipal team serves as consultants or staff engineers to various local, county, and
state governments. In this capacity, we assist with development and engineering permit
reviews, and we serve as temporary in-house engineers. The utility team provides design
and permitting assistance with projects associated with water and wastewater infrastructure
improvements. CGA’s land development team performs civil site work design applications
for our public and private sector clients, including park reconstructions, municipal facilities,
hospitals and new developments. Our roadway team plans, designs, and permits roadways—
ranging from turn lanes to complete streets projects and tequired off-site improvements
for development projects. The stormwater team performs drainage evaluations for sites,
neighborhoods, and basins; we also prepare design and construction documents for various
types of stormwater improvements.
