<br />REMODELING/RENOVATION EXPERIENCE
<br />Our experience includes many renovation and Building “Hardening” projects! We will render phasing plans
<br />to properly illustrate the sequencing of work to be performed. This sequence will be developed with your staff
<br />to allow the least amount of interruption. A recent project for the City of Coconut Creek Engineering
<br />Department consisted of building within and adjacent to their existing facility while they utilized it twenty-four
<br />hours a day. We have developed details for temporary waterproofing, dust control, noise control, etc. The key
<br />to a successful renovation project is to work with the existing structure and building systems, not against them.
<br />The WZA project team will carefully analyze the existing conditions!
<br />ROOFING ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE
<br />It is our policy to protect our client’s investment. We make inspections of existing buildings to determine
<br />the feasibility of repair versus replacement. Our experience and unbiased viewpoint produce solutions to
<br />building problems that are less costly and more efficient. The roofing industry has been experiencing a
<br />period of tremendous change with the influx of new roofing materials and code changes made after each
<br />hurricane season. Our hands-on background in investigation and application enables us to provide you with
<br />the most up-to-date information about roofing and waterproofing systems. As experts in building code, we
<br />will review all rooftop equipment for compliance.
<br />HURRICANE RESISTANT DESIGN
<br />Every year, we develop many new details which provide an updated, more efficient wind resistant building
<br />envelope. Elements include: laminated glazing systems, built-in hurricane shutters, minimal roof top
<br />equipment and penetrations, additional structural wind bracing, roofing system detailing, parapet cap
<br />detailing, and base floor elevation design consideration. The combination of these elements ensures a high
<br />level of security for your property.
<br />LEED EXPERIENCE
<br />Our staff includes LEED Accredited Architects. WZA will implement LEED design components, building
<br />systems and design into your new facilities. We have been working for over two decades and have
<br />successfully achieved LEED status and energy efficiency savings for many of our clients.
<br />KEY PERSONNEL
<br />Abbas H. Zackria, RA CDT LEED AP is Architect of Record for more than 1,000 projects in Broward County.
<br />Services will include feasibility studies, existing facility review and as-built documentation, site and building
<br />programming, conceptual design, site master planning and development, space planning, design development,
<br />construction documents, design and bid specifications, cost estimating, renderings, permitting, bid review, and
<br />contract administration. Mr. Zackria will lead the WZA design team composed of four registered architects,
<br />five project managers, three LEED accredited professionals and one administrative staff, and specialized
<br />consultants listed below. This team of personnel has worked together for many years and functions as a unit in
<br />a well-organized manner with open and active communication in both directions.
<br />Saad Elia El-Hage Consulting Engineers – Structural Engineering – They will assist in the structural
<br />system design. This firm has previous experience with many municipal structures. Saad Elia El-Hage
<br />Consulting Engineers and WZA has worked together for over 30 years on numerous municipal projects.
<br />TLC Engineering – Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing, Fire Protection, LEED – Has worked with
<br />WZA for over 29 years. Since 1955, TLC Engineers has been providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing
<br />engineering design services for various municipalities.
<br />Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Inc. – Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Surveying and
<br />Mapping – CGA has been offering professional surveying services in South Florida for over 89 years. They
<br />provide civil engineering, landscape architecture, GIS and land planning services. The Survey Department
<br />is well-versed in providing detailed and accurate surveying data for engineering projects relating to water
<br />distribution systems, storm drainage, sanitary sewer infrastructure, and roadway.
