When attempting to change lanes, <br />Mr. Moon's motorcycle allegedly hit steep uneven pavement causing him to lose control. Mr. <br />Moon later succumbed to his injuries. KCI was hired by GDOT to perform inspection and <br />supervisory work on this paving project. <br /> <br />• George Powell vs. City of San Marcos / 2202 Hunter Road Inv. LP / Don Durden, <br />Inc., DBA Civil Engineering Consultants (CEC) <br />Case No: 19-3078 <br />Jurisdiction: San Marcos, Texas <br />Opened: April 2020 <br />Closed: December 2022 – Settled <br /> <br />This claim alleged negligence on the part of CEC as well as the other defendants. Plaintiff <br />claimed the design of a detention pond caused flooding and damage to his property. <br /> <br />• Susan Galloway, Personal Representative of the Estate of William Andrew Galloway, <br />Deceased vs. Blythe Construction, Inc. / Stay Alert Safety Services, Inc. / South <br />Carolina Department of Transportation / KCI Technologies, Inc. / Infrastructure <br />Consulting & Engineering <br />Case No: 2019-CP-42-04336 <br />Jurisdiction: State of South Carolina, County of Spartanburg <br />Opened: December 2020 <br />Closed: January 2023 – Dismissed <br /> <br />The claim was based on a fatal car accident that occurred on December 14, 2017, whereby Mr. <br />Galloway was allegedly unaware that traffic was stopped ahead and unable to avoid colliding <br />with a vehicle stopped directly ahead of him. KCI was performing inspection services under <br />a contract with South Carolina Department of Transportation. <br /> <br /> <br />* KCI acquired (i) Don Durden, Inc., DBA Civil Engineering Consultants in November 2021, and (ii) McLaren <br />Engineering Group in October 2024.
