Summary Minutes:Regular City Commission Meeting January 15,2015 City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida <br /> UTV and an ATV, and Captain Grandinetti said an ATV is a single rider, and an UTV is a <br /> side by side. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Commissioner Levin moved and Vice Mayor Gatto seconded a motion to approve the <br /> resolution. Resolution No. 2015-2367 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> 10E. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida,Authorizing <br /> the Chief of Police,in Accordance with the Comprehensive Crime Control Act of 1984,and <br /> in Accordance with Section 932.7055,F.S.,to Expend Partial Forfeiture Funds from the <br /> Department of Justice(DOJ)to Purchase Non-Budgeted Special Service Police Vehicles <br /> and Associated Equipment and Markings Listed on the Attached Certification, in an <br /> Amount Not to Exceed $140,176.16; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Captain Mike Grandinetti reported noting that <br /> this is the authorization to utilize the forfeiture funds to purchase the aforementioned <br /> vehicles. He said one of the benefits of participating in and providing personnel into DEA, <br /> FBI, and HIDTA cases, is the sharing of confiscated proceeds for the enhancement of law <br /> enforcement. Chief Fred Maas certified that all of these items are expenditures that are valid <br /> and authorized by the Department of Justice. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Commissioner Goldman moved and Vice Mayor Gatto seconded a motion to approve the <br /> resolution. Resolution No. 2015-2368 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> 10F. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida,Approving <br /> an Agreement with GraphPlex Signs, to Fabricate and Install Two (2) One-of-a-Kind <br /> Monument Signs to be Located at Kings Point, in an Amount Not to Exceed $17,005.00, <br /> Attached Hereto as Exhibit"A";Waiving Competitive Bidding Procedures;Authorizing the <br /> Mayor to Execute Said Agreement; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things <br /> Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Public Works Director Bill Evans reported <br /> noting this is in keeping with our monument sign program that we have throughout the City <br /> at several of the entrances. About a year ago we took over the circle at the end of Kings <br /> Point, there was an old sign there that was falling in and our Building Department said it <br /> needed to come down. We took the area over and we maintain it from a landscaping <br /> perspective, and it falls within our Monument Sign Program. <br /> Public Speakers: None <br /> Commissioner Aelion moved and Vice Mayor Gatto seconded a motion to approve the <br /> resolution.
