Contract number of referred project: <br /> <br />City of Key West RFP# 04-008 <br /> <br />2. Description and location of work: <br /> <br />This project was a design build bridge construction project that was managed by the City of Key West but <br />ultimately was constructed for the US Navy at Ft. Zachary Taylor in Key West. The project was designed <br />to be constructed on cast in place concrete footers and had to allow for future truck traffic to travel under the <br />bridge for the eventual new entrance into Ft. Zachary Taylor State Park. The project consisted of design, <br />permitting, cast in place concrete footers and landing slabs, precast and set piers, a 10ft x 120ft steel truss <br />bridge, prefabricated steel stairs, bridge painting, cast in place bridge deck, solar electrical lighting and brick <br />façade on each pier. <br /> <br />3. Relevancy To Work Classes: <br /> <br />Ebsary Foundation Company was contracted to perform heavy highway and bridge construction utilizing all <br />of equipment, manpower, type of construction and management requirements all directly relate to <br />Intermediate Bridge Construction. Most specifically this project incorporated start to finish Intermediate <br />Bridge Construction, with center to center concrete pier spacing of 120ft on center; additionally it included, <br />cast in place concrete bridge deck, cast in place approach slabs and pier construction, bridge truss erection, <br />bridge painting and concrete coating, stair erection, site work, solar electrical lighting installation and brick <br />façade installation. Additionally, this project was performed in a secure US Naval Base and in a historically <br />sensitive location due to its proximity to the Ft. Zachary Taylor State Park and required numerous levels of <br />inspections, quality control and certification which are similar to FDOT projects <br /> <br />6.
