Russo,City Manager <br /> FROM: Bill Evans, Director of Public Works <br /> DATE: 4/16/2015 <br /> RE: Resolution Approving Purchasing Authority with <br /> Strobes-R-Us <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff is recommending the City Commission approve the attached <br /> resolution. <br /> REASONS: <br /> The City of Sunny Isles Beach wishes to use Strobes-R-Us to <br /> purchased and install emergency equipment and lighting for City <br /> vehicles. The City will be using an agreement to piggy-back off the <br /> Broward Sheriffs Office, Bid#13104030. <br /> The City's new vehicles are in need of emergency equipment and <br /> lighting. As per the chart below, the Police Department, acquiring <br /> twelve new vehicles and seven lock boxes, will need an amount of <br /> $82,894.00 for emergency equipment and lighting. However, an <br /> amount of $28,844.00 will be funded through the US Department of <br /> Justice, Forfeiture Funds. <br /> The Building Department, acquiring four new vehicles and will need an <br /> amount of$5,888.00,for emergency equipment and lighting. <br /> Parking Enforcement,will be acquiring two new vehicles and will need <br /> an amount of$5,102.00,for emergency equipment and lighting. <br /> The Department of Public Works will be acquiring two new vehicles <br /> and will need an amount of$3,104.00, for emergency equipment and <br /> lighting. <br /> The Department of Cultural and Community Services ('Parks') will be <br /> acquiring one new vehicle and will need an amount of$1,552.00, for <br /> emergency equipment and lighting. <br /> Ocean Rescue will be acquiring four new vehicles and will need an <br /> amount of$4,920.00,for emergency equipment and lighting. <br /> Staff is also requesting an amount of $1,140.00 to replace the <br /> emergency equipment and lighting on a Public Works dump truck and <br /> a 10% contingency of $10,065.00 for emergency equipment and <br /> lighting. <br /> The total of the estimates is in an amount not to exceed $114,665.00. <br /> Please see the chart in attachment"A"for a more detailed breakdown <br /> of the cost estimates. <br /> http://sunnyisles.novusagenda.com/AgendaWeb/CoverSheet.aspx?ItemID=1604 4/10/2015 <br />
