70 City of Sunny Isles Beach New Facility Qualifications for Architectural Design Services <br />LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE - FIRM PROFILE <br />ABOUTSTUDIO <br />SAVINO MILLER DESIGN STUDIO (SMDS) provides design services in <br />Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Design, and Planning. Led by <br />Adriana Savino and Barry Miller, the studio brings its multi-disciplinary experience <br />and collaborative approach in the design of the outdoor to merge the artistic with <br />the pragmatic, the time-tested with innovation, the sustainable with the new. The <br />work spans a range of project types, scales and complexity, from residential design <br />to site master planning to large urban parks, public and private sectors. <br />SMDS’s mission is to improve the Quality of Life through design and understanding <br />of the interaction with the natural world. SMDS seeks to “carve the very atmosphere <br />and medium” through which we move, breathe, and experience our lives, in a <br />beneficial and responsible way. As shapers of the spatial environment, the hope is <br />to create meaningful experience and joy in our shared communal lives and private <br />moments of solitude. The focus is to design spaces that reflects their location and <br />intention and desire of those who will use them. <br />SMDS has a comprehensive understanding of South Florida’s natural, human and <br />cultural ecology. The firm’s collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in waterfront <br />parks, residential and commercial developments is exemplified in the successful <br />completion of projects like South Pointe Park; Arthur Godfrey Street Bridge and <br />Streetscape Master Plan, the Venetian Isles Streetscape Master plan, and the <br />recently completed SLS/ Ritz Plaza Hotel, Costa D ‘Este Hotel in Vero Beach, <br />the Sunset Harbor Condominium and Marina, and Marriott Hotel in South Beach. <br />SMDS has been recipient of many awards and recognitions. Such as the Aventura <br />Optima condominium was recognized in 2014 as Platinum LEED project, La casa <br />de Korge was the 2007 FLASLA Frederic B. Stresau Award and 2007 & 2010 <br />FLASLA Award Of Excellence, and South Pointe Park was awarded Design of <br />Excellence by the FNGLA. <br />1
