88 City of Sunny Isles Beach New Facility Qualifications for Architectural Design Services
CAYMAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL K-12 FACILITY
The Cayman International School is a
private academic institution located
within the 500-acre master planned
community of Camana Bay on Grand
Cayman Island. The design concept
for the Kindergarten through Twelfth
Grade School integrates 32 Classrooms,
Art, Music and Science Labs, an
Administration building, Library and
a Multi-Purpose Hall with Athletic
Fields and Courts, while at the same
time providing distinct educational
precincts within the campus for students
throughout the varying age ranges.
Four educational and social courtyards,
each with its own Architectural and
Landscape Design identity relate
to the age groups adjacent and
define student social centers for the
population of more than 500.
The campus design reinforces the
integration of the public and private
use of the facility; the community-
related amenities of the Multi-
Purpose Hall are linked with adjacent
athletic fields, pool and the outdoor
amenities. This integration of use
and programmatic spaces reinforce
the bond between the School and
the community of Camana Bay.
The Cayman International School
Received the State of Florida AIA Award
for Excellence in Architecture in 200
*Personal experience of Lawrence
Kline, Project Designer while at
AECOM (Spillis Candela DMJM).
CLIENT
Cayman Shores Development Ltd.
Justin Howe
89 Nexus Way, Camana Bay
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
t 345.640.4000
f.345.640.4001
LOCATION Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
COMPLETION DATE 2008
CONSTRUCTION COST Confidential
SIZE 70,000 square feet
AWARDS
Honorable Mention for
Architecture Design, AIA
Miami
