The remaining agenda was heard in order.] 7. ORDINANCES FOR FIRST READING 7A. An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Amending Ordinance No. 2014-436; Amending the City's Budget No. BA1415-04 for the 2014-2015 Fiscal Year — Streets Maintenance Fund and Capital Projects Fund; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Implement the Terms and Conditions of this Ordinance: Providing for an Effective Date. Action: [City Clerk's Note: Heard after Item 10D.] City Clerk Hines read the title, and City Manager Russo reported that this is to fund the acquisition of 18080 Collins Avenue (Alamo property) in the Capital Projects Fund, and including funding for the required Transportation Master Plan in the Streets Maintenance Fund. Public Speakers: None Commissioner Aelion moved and Vice Mayor Gatto seconded a motion to approve the proposed Ordinance on first reading. The motion was approved by a roll call vote of5- 0 in favor. Second reading, public hearing will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at 6:30 p.m. Vote: Commissioner Aelion yes Commissioner Goldman yes Commissioner Levin yes Vice Mayor Gatto yes Mayor Scholl yes 7B. An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida,Amending Chapter 233 ("Special Events")of the Code of Ordinances to Clarify that a Condominium May Hold Special Events for Guests and Invitees Up to Four (4) Times Per Year; Providing for Severability; Providing for Inclusion in the Code; Providing for Repeal of Conflicting Provisions; and Providing_ for an Effective Date. Action:City Clerk Hines read the title,and City Attorney Ottinot reported this provides more flexibility, and noted that this Ordinance was at the request of Mayor Scholl. He said generally condos are prohibited to have any kind of event but with this amendment they can have up to four (4) events per year provided that they work with the City to ensure public safety. Mayor Scholl said this is actually making it a little more liberal.
