Announcement of Police Promotion. <br /> Action: Police Chief Fred Maas announced the promotion of First Line Supervisor Corporal <br /> Melissa Porro to the next level as Police Sergeant, who will be on probation for one year. <br /> City Manager Russo presented her with her promotional badge to the rank of Sergeant. She <br /> introduced her family who were in the audience. Her husband Miami Beach Police Officer <br /> Porro who was a Police Officer in Sunny Isles Beach for nine(9)years.pinned on her badge. <br /> 5B. Special Presentation by Nancy Maidique of the Florida Department of Health and Students <br /> Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) regarding Flavored Tobacco Products that are Heavily <br /> Marketed to Youth. <br /> Action: [City Clerk's Note: The students distributed a booklet entitled Don't Let Flavored <br /> Tobacco Trap Florida's Kids".] Four (4) students from SWAT made a presentation on <br /> banning candy flavored tobacco projects that are heavily marketed to the'youth. Dr. Javier <br /> Berezdivin of the Florida Department of Health asked the City to pass a Resolution or an <br /> Ordinance banning this tobacco from the City. Mayor Scholl noted that the City of Sunny <br /> Isles Beach was one of the first municipalities to pass an Ordinance on vapor cigarettes and <br /> so we have a history of trying to protect our youth. He thanked them for coming and said <br /> hopefully we will get an ordinance passed as well. <br /> 6. ZONING: ZONING HEARINGS ARE QUASI-JUDICIAL PUBLIC HEARINGS. <br /> 6A. Request of St. Tropez on the Bay: Phases II & III — Major Site Plan Modification for <br /> Property Located at 290-330 Sunny Isles Boulevard & 16699 Collins Avenue for the <br /> Following: (Hearing #PZ2015-05) <br /> Summary: <br /> The Applicant is requesting approval of a site plan modification to an approved site plan for <br /> properties located at 290-330 Sunny Isles Boulevard commonly known as Phase II of the <br /> development project to reduce the number of residential units from 329 to 320. The <br /> Applicant is also requesting a one (1) year extension to extend the time period to obtain a <br /> building permit for the commercial office building commonly known as Phase III and which <br /> is located at 16690 Collins Avenue. Further, the Applicant is requesting a minor <br /> modification to the Bay-\Valk Easement Agreement for Phase III component of the project. <br /> Requests: <br /> 1. Pursuant to Section 265-18 of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Land Development Regulations, <br /> the Applicant is requesting a site plan modification to reduce the density of Phase II of the <br /> project from 329 residential units to 320 residential units. <br /> 2. Pursuant to Section 265-18 of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Land Development Regulations, <br /> the Applicant is requesting a minor modification of conditions relating to the Bay-Walk <br /> Easement Agreement as set forth in Resolution No. 12-Z-133, adopted on November 15, <br /> 2 <br />
