These
regulations require the issuance of a special event permit for any organized event that takes place
on public or private property, where such event would not normally be allowed based on zoning,
certificate of use or business license.
The City desires to amend Section 233-1 of the City Code to provide a condominium association
with permission to host special events for guests and invitees up to four times per year, provided
that the condominium association obtains the necessary permits required by the City. However,
the City reserves the right to revoke a special event permit issued to a condominium association
under this Section if the special event poses a threat to the health, safety or welfare of the
condominium association, including its guests and invitees. This amendatory ordinance does not
preclude condominium associations from hosting events for unit owners on a regular basis.
This Ordinance is requested by Mayor George "Bud" Scholl.
