NSU CENTER FOR COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH
architecture . engineering Davie, Florida
Located at Nova Southeastern University's
Davie campus, the Center for Collaborative
Research (CCR) will be a state -of- the -art,
cooperative interdisciplinary center for medical,
pharmaceutical, dental and oceanographic
research. The 220,000 square foot building,
which will pursue a LEER® Silver Certification,
will include access to a six level 1,650 car parking
garage, providing additional student parking and
parking for the CCR staff.
The CCR will house one of the largest wet -lab
research facilities in Florida. The wet lab will be a
home base for applied health care research and
medical informatics. Researchers will collaborate
within this advanced environment to investigate
pharmaceutical synthesis, cancer therapy, human
stem cell research, biomaterials, wildlife DNA
forensics, and ocean biomaterials. Our design
will incorporate bio- medical labs, tissue culture
suites, microscopy facilities, and small animal
vivariums with ABSL -2 suites and surgical suites.
The CCR will be home to the Rumbaugh- Goodwin
Institute for Cancer Research; investigators from
the Health Professions Division; and the U.S.
Geological Survey (USGS). The federal agency
is partnering with NSU, Florida Atlantic University
and the University of Florida to promote
scientific cooperation for the Greater Everglades
Restoration Project.
In addition, the CCR project will be linked to the
Florida LambdaRail (Florida's Research and
Education Network - operating a statewide high
performance fiber -optic network infrastructure
linking Florida's research institutions worldwide).
The CCR building will incorporate all of the
latest modern educational technology while
blending in the Mediterranean Architecture of the
surrounding Academical Village. Our design will
follow NIH guidelines, Guide for Care and use
of Lab Animals, AAALAC standards, and the
National Research Council.
architecture engineering roofing consulting construction mana ement
