Jkamelftft)k I SFWMD ENVIRONMENTAL LABORATORY <br />architecture . engineering (Nest Palm Beach, Florida <br />ACAI was commissioned to provide complete <br />Architectural services including Facility <br />Programming, Site Planning, and overall <br />Architectural Design and Construction <br />Documentation for a new Laboratory Building for <br />the South Florida Water Management District. <br />This project involved the design and development of <br />a new 2 -story, 36,000 sf facility based upon a Basis <br />of Design Report (BODR) and site configuration <br />studies completed by ACAI, as well as compliance <br />with the Districts Standards. <br />The $9 million facility consolidates and centralizes <br />five ecological and water quality groups associated <br />with the management and protection of South <br />Florida's coastal resources. The new facility <br />includes state -of- the -art modular laboratories, staff <br />offices, sampling and environmentally controlled <br />storage facilities designed around a central 2 -story <br />atrium. <br />We were later selected to provide Construction <br />Administration services for the construction of <br />this new Environmental Service Laboratory. Our <br />scope of services included assistance during the <br />bidding phase, review of shop drawings, responses <br />to RFI's, attendance at bi- monthly construction <br />meetings and construction observation. <br />This project was designed using sustainable design <br />principles and has recently been designated as a <br />LEED® Gold building. <br />architecture engineering roofing consulting construction mans <br />ement <br />
