Aolou� I <br />architecture • engineering <br />BROWARD COUNTY <br />RAVENSWOOD BUS MAINTENANCE FACILITY <br />ACAI Associates was selected by Broward County, <br />Florida to provide programming, design and construction <br />administration services for the replacement of their <br />facilities at the Ravenswood Bus Maintenance Facility in <br />Dania Beach, Florida. The 9 -acre site will be reconfigured, <br />replacing the existing 1970's structures with new state - <br />of- the -art facilities for current and future needs. When <br />completed, the 214,789 sf facility will accommodate up <br />to 150 fleet vehicles including (130) 40 -foot buses and <br />(20) 60 -foot articulated buses along with staff and visitor <br />parking, the majority of which will be provided by a new <br />250 - space multi -level parking garage. <br />The existing facilities to be replaced include: an <br />operations building, an 11 -Bay bus maintenance building, <br />a fueling and fare retrieval facility, bus washing facility <br />and surface parking. In addition, ancillary structures <br />include: a sanitary lift station, guard gate, a compressor <br />building and other miscellaneous storage buildings. All <br />of these are proposed to be removed as part of this land <br />replaced, multi - phased project. <br />As part of Broward County's ongoing efforts to provide <br />more energy efficient, environmentally sustainable <br />building, the new Ravenswood Maintenance Facility is <br />pursuing a LEED" Gold Certification.
